People snore for a reason. It’s not that we like to hear ourselves snore and we all know that our significant others can also do without this annoyance. These methods should be done 10 times a day for the best results. In very recent studies it has been noted that playing a woodwind instrument has also resulted in a reduction in snoring.

As with just about any ailment, your daily activities should include some sort of exercise regimen. Snoring can be reduced greatly for those who are on the obese side. If a person is overweight, this may obstruct the airway. This is caused by the fatty tissue in the neck putting pressure on the diaphragm. By losing weight you are not only reducing your snoring but your overall health as well. So eat right, exercise regularly and sleep tight!

If the problems lay within the mouth due to a soft palate or uvula then reshaping your mouth to keep you from snoring may be the key. Using a mouthpiece or a mandibular advancement splint will prevent the soft throat tissues from collapsing and blocking the airway when you sleep. This piece will make your lower jaw come forward and lift your soft palate. Talk to your doctor or an ENT (ear nose and throat) specialist to have them explain what exactly is causing you to snore. They will then be able to treat you properly, depending on what the cause is.
